It all began with feeding my neighbor’s fish 🐠🐟🐡while he was on holiday, — a small, quiet ritual that made me realize how deeply connected we are, even to the tiniest, most delicate lives.

I’ve always been a water person 🌊 The ocean /the sea is where I reconnect to myself, where I feel most at home. Without it, without the life it holds, we wouldn’t be who we are..
And our oceans are fragile, and their silent beauty needs our protection more than ever.

For the prompt "Hear the Ocean" I’m sharing this illustration as both a love letter and a gentle reminder: to listen, to cherish, and to care for the waters that care for us 🐚

Birdsong, blooming trees, and the sweet scent of earth — this is the kind of magic I am feeling at this moment.

Spending the last hours of holiday at home, in this secluded forgotten village where everything feels untouched and full of life — the trees have burst into bloom, the grass is freshly mowed, and the earth breathes with a deep, rich scent only spring can bring.

The air is thick with songs —I’ve counted at least ten different bird species, each weaving their own melody into the breeze.

For the #OurPlanetWeek challenge, under the prompt Feel the Air, I wanted to translate a small piece of this feeling — of wings fluttering, of unseen currents carrying life all around us, of the wild, incomparable beauty of this raven earth we call home 🏡.

Have you ever felt it—that exact moment when everything shifts?
When the waiting ends, and the world turns green overnight? 🌱
We all know that quiet tension—when the world feels paused, holding its breath for the first bud to break free. And then, in a blink, it all happens. The forest bursts open. Everything is green, fragrant, buzzing with life 🌿

𝑺𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑾𝒂𝒔 𝑩𝒐𝒓𝒏 𝑰𝒏 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑭𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕 is is my way of capturing that exact moment: the awe, the joy, the deep exhale. It’s a feeling we wait for all winter—and suddenly, it’s all around us. It is my tribute to that magical second of transformation.

I painted this scene over the years, layering it slowly—just like nature does.the first stroke happened in 2020, then one more bud, one more leaf, one more proof of life each time I returned every single year to follow.

And now it’s finally here: fragrant, alive, in full bloom.

I remember sitting on the floor, brush in hand, paper taped down — and this strange mix of excitement and uncertainty in my chest.
@kristina.mecklenfeld had already asked me to paint a possible cover — but nothing was guaranteed. All I could do was pour myself into it and hope she’d see what I saw.

That was five years ago.
I started with a red background, mixed by myself from 2 different colors. Bold and warm, then slowly built the scene, one brushstroke at a time. Twisting branches, muted greens, deep midnight blue. And then — her. Serene and strong, quietly holding the center.
Painted traditionally, with breaks for tea, doubt, and layers drying.

Now, all this time later, she is the cover of "Medalionul Domniței"

I had the chance to create this editorial illustration for an article written by Vlad Gheorghiu and published on @theanthro.art, uncovering an often overlooked piece of Romania’s recent past. The story dives into the transformation of Hunedoara after the fall of socialism — from the proud hum of the Corvinul steel mill to the ghostly quiet of a once-beloved football stadium.

Both the factory and the stadium, once symbols of identity, pride, and community, have slowly faded into the background of a changing landscape. This artwork aims to capture not just the physical decay, but also the emotional weight of that loss — the stories etched into concrete and smoke, and the echoes left behind.
