The second editorial brief for the Amherst Creates section of the Amherst College Magazine asked to create a half page illustration to accompany the review of the novel "The Untended" written by Mattea Kramer.

The story follows a single mom who, after breaking her foot while engaging in her recreational boxing hobby, becomes dependent on a powerful pain medication. Her dependence spirals after her prescription is pulled, showing the impact of addiction on her daily life and relationships.

Last year I had the pleasure to create a series of editorial Illustrations for the Amherst Creates section of the Amherst College Magazine, that you can see in the current printed issue.

The first brief was to create a quarter-page illustration accompanying the roundup of Red Dog Farm, Broke, The Salt Stones: Seasons of a Shepherd’s Life. Each of these works have to do with relationships with animals and land/nature, so that could serve as a jumping off point.

Starting the year with a little Moroccan sunshine 🇲🇦✨
Not my usual kind of photos, but ones I want to come back to. I want to remember how this year started for me—completely out of the ordinary. With a well-deserved time off, soaking in colors and new experiences, finding new ideas, and clearing my head from all the noise and chaos.

Before I fully dive back in, I want to say thank you. To all the art directors, editors, collaborators, clients, and creative souls I worked with last year: thank you for your trust, your ideas, and the beautiful projects we brought to life together.

Today is my first day back at the desk—planning the months ahead, answering emails, and easing back into the rhythm. From next week on, it’s full swing again 💻🎨

I have some truly lovely projects lined up for the coming months, and I’m very excited about what this year holds. I want to come back to this post one day and remember how peaceful everything felt, how full of possibilities it all was—and remind myself to take time off more often.

Snow, snow everywhere I look - and somehow it’s still exactly the right moment to slow down and enjoy winter at its coziest. I finally feel like this little girl, hidden away, wrapped in a thick, soft felt, gently protected from the world.

I still have a few holiday days left, and I can’t even begin to say how much this extra pause helps. After a very busy 2025, having a little more time to rest, heal, and gather energy for the new year feels like the perfect thing to do and have, and yet we rarely grant it to ourselves.

Inside me, I can already sense tiny, shy ideas for new illustrations pushing through the snow, trying to surface. Not yet… but soon ✨❄️

While I am away on holiday I couldn't miss sharing the annual contemplation of what happened throughout 2025 and boy it brought a lot of lovely projects! when I draw the line I realize it was simply full in the best way possible. Of course, it's never just a clean line. Mid-year brought a big disappointment with a renowned illustration agency (more on that at some point), and towards the end a little burnout too. But hey — we’re here to acknowledge everything: the good and the messy.

As per usual here are some of the things I did this year but there is so much more to be grateful for :

🌐A wonderful promotional package for the children Romanian theatre @teatrulioncreanga regarding the show Harap Alb

🌐Selected winner for the Romulus Candea prize in Austria with my own book project "the Shed" (yep, I still have to share about this one) @designaustria
🌐Selected Winner in the self promotion category for the @dotsxcircles with Woodland Walz and finalist in the @ilustrofest competition.
🌐I did 21 markets, each unique it its own way, exhausting but full of wonderful connections.
🌐Editorial illustrations that I haven't had time to share here yet for the Amherst College magazine, Honest History, for Pellicle and my favourite: @bergwelten
🌐I spoke for the first time in a radio show, at @orasulvorbestelacultural for Radio România cultural- thank you @oana_ppopp for the invitation
🌐 The ongoing project with @haanpc brought to life some more wonderful illustrated recipes
🌐 My first illustrated EP Cover for the music from @charlywoodband
🌐 It s not always a list about projects to me, but also about friendships and I feel blessed to have met this year @atelier.anna.just.kunrath and @rosycheeks_jewelry - i am so happy you are in my life and thank you for your kindness and love

Some wonderful projects are already lined up for 2026, and I honestly can’t wait to see what the new year will bring.
