When Violeta first wrote to me asking if I’d like to illustrate the cover for a novel by one of Romania’s most acclaimed writers, my heart skipped a beat.

Today, I’m so excited to finally share the illustration I created for “𝘗𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘢 𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘧𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘭𝘶𝘪 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘳ă𝘪𝘢 î𝘯𝘵𝘳-𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘢𝘫ă 𝘥𝘦 𝘯𝘶𝘤ă” written b𝘺 𝘈𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘈𝘭𝘶𝘪 𝘎𝘩𝘦𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘩𝘦 ✨ I will share the actual book here soon, although I am sure you have seen snippets in the stories.

This enchanting story unfolds mostly at night, and I wanted the artwork to reflect that—mysterious, dreamlike, and filled with a quiet kind of wonder. I imagined a world where mountains, valleys, and deserts exist side by side,united together by stardust and silence. And the song you can hear now in the background was playing in my head from the very beginning, from the very first strokes.

“𝘽𝙡𝙪𝙚 𝙉𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙀𝙭𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨” is now available as a 30x40 cm fine art print, printed with archival pigments on 100% cotton paper. Swipe to see how beautiful it looks in print 💙

The Lotus Girl 💚
She’s actually a reworked version of an old painting I once considered a failure. I had painted her traditionally, but something didn’t sit right—so last year, I gave her a new life. And she transformed.

At first, she had no real meaning. But then I remembered a moment from our honeymoon in Vietnam:
A woman standing knee-deep in a river, pulling massive roots from the water. It looked like she was cleaning the riverbed—but I had the feeling there was more to it. Maybe they were for cooking? Maybe not. I never found out..

But that image stayed with me.
And now, Lotus Girl reminds me of mystery—and the magic of not knowing. Of letting the unknown exist in your life without needing to explain it. 🌾

Meet the 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝘆 🦚– an oldie but goldie blue lady with a head full of thoughts, carefully arranged, perfectly composed on the outside. But inside, it’s loud.

🐤 There are so many thoughts sometimes—too many—and they circle endlessly, overlapping, growing heavy. Still, one tiny, wild, spontaneous thought found its way out.

This piece is a quiet reminder that not everything needs to be held in or kept beautiful and controlled. Sometimes, the most meaningful thing we can do is let a thought fly free, even if it disrupts the pattern
